we watch in horror and disgust
as vultures gather on our pristine white cement streets
and clean for us the things we find
untouchable
and then we carrion
OUR lives as though
we’re much better

“pristine white cement streets”
this phrase pleases me.
why thank you. tho i hope not in a weird way.
i’m surprised how much im enjoying word-play recently… i couldn’t help after writing this but to trounce around the house thinking myself brilliant for at least a few minutes (till my wife asked, “whats carrion?” and i was disillusioned)
i was just pondering the word “carrion” two days ago.
