an injury induced break
brought to mind the difficulty
of finding endorphines (or something like them)
legally in this day in age.

today we took flight for an hour
to see what our bodies could
still do.

roads to grass to steps to history
to hills past zoos and along rivers
we weaved through crowds and
jumped over folk just to
watch them squirm with fear
and something like joy.

flight for an hour and we returned
home because the time was too
short for a two hour flight when
family is at home counting on you
doing something other than soaking
in endorphines.
