soon again to be a pappy… strange the fear still lingers

poetry

in the intermittent times
i ponder the death of the
one we haven’t yet had and
awake with a start feeling
around the bed next to me
to see that your belly
is still as big as it ever was
and my little girl is still

hugged safely inside

There must be something about having children (I can only imagine) that inspires the poet like nothing else ever written. This (and its child referencing predecessors) is unmatched and absolutely phenomenal.

there is something unique about it… when that little head pops out, even though its absolutely disgusting, its hands down the coolest experience in the whole world… and the little thing looks like you!?@

less than 3 months till the next one comes… craziness

That is awesome fear, congrats! Being the youngest of 4 children, the experience of birth had lost its edge of magic and wonder by the time I was born ( but yeah, I managed to secure the much envied position of a family pet). If you have a 4th child, you’ll probably sleep through a storm, let nature run its course you’ll say…
